The place seems to be heading in a good direction. The housekeepers are really nice and know how to clean, lol, and the new owners are much nicer than the people who used to be in the office.

The room looked clean and everything seemed fine until bedtime, when we turned off the lights and the bed bugs started biting. My wife had a bad feeling from the start, and I should’ve listened. At $75 a night, that’s not okay. They wouldn’t refund us or offer any other accommodation. When we told the attendant, all we got was, “Oh yes, we’re aware some rooms have it, we’re taking care of it.” If they know there are bed bugs, why are they still renting those rooms? Stay away, it’s not worth it. I’d give it minus ten stars if I could, but the review form makes me give at least one.

I left early and got none of my money back. The wife, who said she was the only manager, just looked at me as if it wasn’t her problem. Her husband talked me into a weekly rate of $330 even though I only had $250 cash, and offered to let me pay the rest two days later. After that, he yelled at me whenever he saw me leaving my room to remind me to pay. He then made me leave after I’d settled in with my daughter and husband. Later, when my husband had gone, the man banged on my door and walked in while I was half dressed, without telling me he needed to enter or asking to come in. If I could give no stars, I would.

It’s handy being right off the East Freeway, though the neighborhood may feel intimidating to some people. The room seemed clean and well kept, and wasn’t bad at all. The woman at the payment window was especially kind while I paid by phone for someone else’s two-night stay. For a basic place to spend a few nights when money’s tight, it was fine: $60 a night and no deposit required.
