Since arriving in June, I've seen the place become much cleaner and better cared for. Before that, people were tossing trash from their car windows, and there was a lot of disorder. Things have calmed down significantly, and management is doing what it can. The building is older and still needs work, so progress is slow, but it's better than before. There used to be drug dealers out in the open, kids running everywhere, fighting, and noise late at night. The rules may feel strict, but without them things could go right back to how they were. This is a business, not an apartment complex, and the team will work with you if you're reasonable and polite, not combative. I'm grateful to God for bringing us here and answering our prayer for change. In just a few months things improved, and we're in a much better place than we were last year. Thanks to the whole management team for keeping things running as smoothly as they can. They've been helpful and understanding. Of course it won't all be perfect, but any change is better than none.
Leaving was a relief. The rooms are outdated, with cigarette burns on the blinds, brown water, roaches, mold, and grime. The Wi-Fi doesn't work properly, there's nowhere to sit outside, and it feels like you're locked in your room like an inmate. Weed and cigarette smoke reach the front door and the rooms. The vending machines take your money, and the washer and dryer are expensive and don't work right. It's $3.25 to wash and $3.25 to dry, but the washer leaves water in your clothes and the dryer doesn't dry them. The beds slide against the walls and feel unstable, and the microwave and stove don't work. I also found the general manager, Bridget Johnson, unprofessional and uncaring toward guests and tenants. She makes false reviews, just as she makes false accusations when banning people. People were leaving because of how poorly this suite is run. I'm not staying here again, even if they beg people to stay and post good reviews for a low price. Cheap rates mean bad quality here. Don't rent a room. The place was a nightmare.
We were asked to leave the next day after reporting the manager, and then charged another $98.70. This was the worst experience we've had in 12 states over six months of work travel with our beautiful autistic four-year-old. Online bookings are always hit or miss for us, since photos rarely match the rooms and places often don't have what they claim. We booked through Super+ as we do for all our hotel stays. At the desk, Alyissa said the card had been declined. We called the third-party app and found out she was trying to overcharge them because she didn't have a manager discount to apply the online rate. The manager, who supposedly worked at the Hilton, yelled at my wife, clapped her hands in her face, and shouted, “I need my money.” We paid triple for that night, and the third-party app refunded us. Then six people pounded on our door at night, calling us bad parents because our four-year-old was driving her little toy car on the floor while we made dinner. We've never seen a place this untrained or unprofessional in all the states we've traveled, including Vegas and New Mexico. Do not go here.
Mrs. Bridget and Ms. Alyssa made our stay a good one. When I first arrived, Ms. Alyssa was welcoming, sweet, and made sure we had everything we needed. Bridget was juggling a lot at the desk, helping many people get checked in and out while handling everything else, and she had her staff on top of things. She's doing a great job, and her team is wonderful and helpful. Five stars from me for this hotel.
Tenare deserves a raise and a promotion. He even helps guests when he's off the clock, which says a lot about how dedicated he is. At the front desk he handles things brilliantly, helping us quickly with Wi-Fi problems, room rates, hotel changes, and whatever else comes up. He also does a lot to keep the place safe and peaceful, which I really appreciate.
