The price was unbeatable, and the rooms were clean with superb service. Late checkout at noon was a plus, and the free breakfast wasn't bad. We had a little trouble with the hot water at first, but the front desk woman fixed it and came to my room to make sure it was running. Thanks.

For health and safety reasons, I can't recommend this hotel. My family has never had a worse stay. We arrived late on 1/17/2026 at Wyndham Houston Sugarland in Texas, tired from driving, and went straight to sleep. The next morning, 1/18/2026, I noticed there was only one towel. I told the front desk, and they brought more within 30 minutes. When I went to shower, I saw black mold all over the bathroom ceiling. I was there with my daughters and one-year-old grandson, so this was deeply upsetting. The front desk moved us to a room on the fifth floor, but it also had visible black mold. They then offered to move us to another location or refund us, so I checked out immediately and asked for my money back. I had booked through Hotel.com, and the representative tried hard to reach someone to confirm the refund, but the clerk gave them several management numbers and nobody could be reached. The clerk was dismissive and seemed to find the situation funny. I see that as an insult to us and to my grandson's health after the exposure. I contacted the corporate office, and they emailed back to say that hotel policy meant they wouldn't refund me, even though the room was clearly uninhabitable. This is a major health risk, and I'll report it to the local health department.

We came for the rodeo on a girls' trip and only wanted a clean place, nothing fancy. Instead, there were no towels in the room, the shower and phone didn't work, and the TV was out too. The lampshades were filthy and broken, the bathroom and carpet were gross, and there was feces on the wall. Nobody was at the front desk when we arrived. Later, an unkempt man in a dirty shirt said he couldn't do anything because it was too late. We ended up sleeping in the car. This was hands down the worst hotel I've stayed in, probably worse than the Bates Motel.

The location was decent, with a good variety of nearby places to eat. The service was ridiculous, though. Staff were rude, and I had to go downstairs three times before I got so annoyed that I gave up and accepted the room I had. I'd come to town to visit family and booked a suite for the extra space and pullout sofa. At check-in I learned there was a deposit, which hadn't been disclosed, and my money was already gone, so I couldn't get a refund if I chose not to stay. Then I found I had been put in a nonsuite room that was almost $30 cheaper than what I'd paid for. I raised it with staff and got treated like an idiot. The same issue happened three times before I settled for the room, even though it still wasn't what I booked. After hours on the road, dealing with all that was the last thing I needed. There was no hot water at first. Staff said I had to run it for at least 30 minutes before it would get warm enough to shower. Breakfast was microwave sandwiches and juice, not a nice breakfast. One reason I'd picked this hotel was its restaurant inside, but that wasn't available either. At this point I just want a full refund.
