La Quinta Inn & Suites Houston Bush Airport

The room was spacious and comfortable, with enough room to maneuver a wheelchair. The bed was extremely firm and didn't suit us. Staff did what they could and let me look at two rooms to see which would work, since the room type we'd booked wasn't available. I'd reserved an accessible room with two queen beds and a roll-in shower two weeks ahead. We were instead given an accessible room with a walk-in shower and no grab bars, which raised a serious safety concern. Staff found a shower chair, but there was nowhere for soap or shampoo except the floor. The shower only opened from the water side, so I got completely soaked while bathing my loved one.

The airport shuttle worked perfectly, and the staff were friendly. I had a comfortable stay at La Quinta Inn Houston. When I accidentally ended up with a duplicate booking charge, they refunded the extra amount even though the reservation was nonrefundable. I really appreciated that and had a very positive experience.

The room door wouldn't close properly, which was the most concerning issue for my safety. The third floor also had a persistent bad odor, and the floor lamp by the window didn't work, leaving too little light at night. I had to switch rooms because the first smelled strongly of mildew. The second had a noticeable mildew odor too, so it seemed like a wider problem. Its bedding and floors had large visible stains. The property felt poorly maintained and fell short on cleanliness, working equipment, and guest safety. I wouldn't recommend staying here. I only gave one star because the form wouldn't let me submit without one.

My friend had to change rooms because of a strong sewage odor, but the replacement still smelled, and its bedding looked dirty with visible stains. I was in a fourth-floor suite and noticed a faint sewage smell there after the first night. The room felt worn, poorly cared for, and overdue for updates and better housekeeping. After two days here with friends, I wouldn't recommend the place until the cleanliness and maintenance problems are dealt with.
