Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Huntsville Downtown

The bartender on Saturday night was friendly and managed the crowd well, and the hotel and rooms were clean and nice. Our check-in, though, was awful. The man at the desk was rude, rushed us, and made us feel unwelcome. There were six of us in two rooms, but when we said we only needed to pay for one car, he challenged that and answered my questions with smart remarks. The breakfast felt short on choices. We were there during some events, though I don't know which ones, and the parking deck was always full. Event parking cost $5, but we were charged $18. They really need to separate event parking from hotel parking.

Being right in the heart of Huntsville is a real plus if you need to be near downtown, with restaurants, amenities, and parks close by. My stay itself was a mess, though. The room smelled like someone had just smoked in it, so I asked for another one. The older man at the front desk hadn't even greeted or acknowledged me when I came in, and the employee handling the room change seemed poorly trained. He cancelled my reservation and booked me again, which led to a double charge. When I called to sort it out, that same employee transferred me to the “operations manager.” I left a voicemail, but the manager never called back. I've stayed with Hilton hundreds of times and have never run into staff this unprofessional.

We were able to leave the car in the garage the whole time and walk to lunch, dinner, the convention centers, and my daughter's cheer competition. The hotel was well placed for all of that, and we'd happily stay again. Our room was clean, updated, and had plenty of outlets; the beds were comfortable and the AC could get properly cold. I also liked the dog walking area with waste bags, and the gym impressed me with how much equipment it had. Check-in was quick, and there was a cute hot chocolate bar in the lobby, which was decorated for Valentine's Day. We stayed January 9-11, 2026. Breakfast had fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, and a few hot choices, all tasting fresh, but get there early because they weren't quick to restock when things ran out.

Brianna is outstanding, so warm, welcoming, resourceful, and focused on making customers feel looked after. I could go on. The accommodations are lovely, and the location works perfectly for business around the area. Groundworks is lucky to have you as a preferred provider. You went beyond what we needed. Thank you! 🙏🏼😁👌🏼
