Jackson Fork Inn, LLC

The owner was rude, and when we tried to talk it through, she brushed us off and justified her behavior. I've run a small business myself and would never treat a customer the way she treated me this weekend. We've been regular customers at both Chris' next-door businesses, the gas station and restaurant, but we won't be back. For gas, Chevron is exactly a mile down the road; for a place to stay, there are nicer Airbnb's in condos less than a mile away. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.

My husband planned a getaway at "The Jackson Fork Inn" for my birthday before our baby arrives. I'm 8.5 months pregnant, and we chose it partly because it's pet friendly. When we got there, there were dead bugs on the bed, pillows, and in the bathroom. The room clearly hadn't been cleaned or checked before we arrived. Later I tried to shower and there was no hot water. We were the only guests in the inn. We called Vicki the manager, who told us to turn the tap all the way to hot and let it run. We did that for over 20 minutes, with no hot water. She said the room next door had hot water, but we still had none. Then she came and asked me what I wanted her to do. We could stay in that room or leave. She could have offered another room, a discount, or free brunch the next day, but instead expected me to come up with a fix. The shower had a broken hot water valve, and although the rest of the inn had hot water, we weren't offered another room. At checkout, I gave the key to another employee, who apologized for our bad experience but said, "you are in the country," as if that explained the lack of hot water. I told her we'd paid for a service and expected hot water. The manager did nothing to improve our accommodations. We had to put up with bugs in the bed and bathroom and no hot water or lose the money we'd paid. The Jackson Fork Inn wasn't worth the price, customer service was awful, and they did nothing to make our stay better. We'll never stay there again and wouldn't recommend "The Jackson Fork Inn" to anyone.

The people here are incredibly nice, and the surrounding landscape is amazing. I fell in love with this B&B and would recommend it over a busy city or an ordinary hotel anytime. If you enjoy photography, bring your camera!

Friendly place, but it felt empty. They should get rid of all the old gift-shop type items that are 20 years old. Maybe management could make this a busier spot by reaching out and doing more, though it is a small community. Give it a try!
