The best part was the shower. The tub was roomy enough for a bath, and the adjustable head had a massage setting that finally helped my damaged back relax. The water got incredibly hot and stayed that way even after I’d been under it for around 40 minutes. The heating and AC unit was quiet, cooled the room quickly, and the mattress was comfortable, neither too hard nor too soft. I was in town for a work event and got a very cheap rate, so I knew what to expect. Still, I was pleasantly surprised. It’s an outdoor-style motel with no hallways, and you park right outside your room. It has two stories, and I’d requested a non-smoking room on the ground floor, which I got. The location was five minutes from where I needed to be. I’ve worked in hotels, so I check for bugs and use an ultraviolet light before unpacking. I found no sign of bugs apart from two flies that probably came in with me, and the light showed very little. A couple of spots behind the toilet lit up, but that didn’t bother me. The shower, sink, counters, dressers, and table were clean. The sink had cracks, and there was some wall damage, dust here and there, and peeling paint, so it wasn’t pretty. The towels were clean, but the sheets could have been cleaner. I figured they wash them in-house and might be running loads that are too full. I slept on top of the comforter instead. I was happy with the stay, and my travel companion felt safe while I worked. Other people in our group had issues at two different hotels, including ants, a vape smell, and water that wouldn’t stay hot. My room had no smell and great water pressure. It wasn’t perfect, but I’d stay again. 4/5.

The room was so dirty that I had to clean the tub before bathing my sick 5-year-old. There were black smears on the tub and shower walls, and dirt and debris along the baseboards. The AC wouldn’t stay on, and the room was hot and muggy enough that opening the door to let in outside air felt cooler. I’d already paid through the app, but at check-in I was told I needed to pay a $60 deposit before getting a key. A warning ahead of time would’ve been nice. When we left the next morning, I went to the office to get the deposit back. The owner said he’d keep a third because an unlisted third person had come and gone several times. My son was very sick, I don’t have a car, and that person had kindly gone to the store for medicine and a few other things we needed, then brought them back. They came once more to check on us, and that was all. The owner said I was making excuses and reminded me that visitors weren’t allowed. When I explained it to my boyfriend, he went to ask for our money and the owner denied keeping any of the deposit. This happened less than a week ago, in April 2025. The place is a joke. I’d recommend either of the hotels a block down, West or East. For just a few dollars more, you’ll get a much better room and more respectable people to deal with.

They sent me a booking confirmation, but when we arrived to check in, the place was closed. They refused to refund me, so I basically lost my money.

The towels felt like 330-grit sandpaper, good for some last-minute car bodywork, I guess. The shower drain didn’t work, so the water stood about three inches deep while I showered. Rooms were dingy, and even freshly cleaned sheets had stains. Cold air or daylight came through a quarter-inch gap around the doors. The key cards needed reprogramming about every two days, meaning a trip to the office for access even when I was exhausted after a 14-hour day and had already paid.

We were moving to Missouri and had nowhere to stay, so we found this place and stayed a week. At $26 a night, it worked out well. The room was clean and smelled mostly of cleaner and the wall-plug air freshener. It’s old and could use some work, but the price made that easier to accept. There are homeless people around, and some stay a night or two, but they didn’t bother anyone. The place was well lit at night and felt safe. I didn’t see any bugs or roaches. Housekeeping never came by, though we didn’t need anything since we’d brought our own toiletries, towels, and blankets. I’m sure they’d have helped if we’d asked. Nothing fancy, just a clean place to sleep, and I enjoyed the stay.
