Comfort Inn Hyannis - Cape Cod

The motel’s right on Main Street, with an easy walk to the water and restaurants. The kids especially liked the pool and hot tub, and loved the breakfast sausages and waffles. Staff were friendly and helpful, and let us check in a little early. The rooms could use some attention, but we had a positive stay.

The fridge barely kept anything cold, and the room felt outdated. They advertise a heated pool online, but it wasn’t heated. There were live centipedes by the hot tub, too. When we told the front desk lady, she laughed and said the pool would start warming after it had been cold for two days. We asked for a refund because we didn’t want to stay the night, and she replied, “some people just leave.” Disgusting place and horrible, rude service from the woman at the front.

After our stay, they charged us $100 for “damaged towels,” though some were dirty and none were damaged beyond repair. Dirty towels can be washed, so I didn’t think the charge was justified. They hadn’t notified me directly about the fine, and after I called, the manager took days to respond. I had to call several times. During the conversation, he banned my girlfriend and me from the property. We’ve disputed the charge and will keep disputing it. The check-in guy gave us a weird vibe and put us in a basement room, like the basement of an old office building. The pool was locked when we tried to use it, so we had to find someone to unlock it. We had a good trip in August, but this place is poorly run and the service was incredibly unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend this dump to my worst enemy. Beware, stay elsewhere. Dis-comfort in from here on you are curse-d :)

We went somewhere else where we felt welcome, even though we knew we’d probably lose our money. The service was bad enough to make us leave. Comfort Inn is usually a safe choice, but not this one. Steer clear.
