Main Street was the best part for us. We had fun sitting in the Adirondack chairs, watching people go by and hearing live music from The hotel Tiki bar. The pool looked just like the photos, though the heat and humidity inside felt more stifling than a typical hotel pool. The room was mostly clean and our single king had enough space for two, but finding someone else’s hair in the tiny bathroom was gross. The shower felt like one in a camper, and the mattress was old-feeling and too squishy for me. I did like finding a steamer in the closet. Music from the bar was fun until we were ready to sleep and could still hear it in the room. For the low September price, I’d stay again, but wouldn’t suggest it to a friend who’s picky about hotels.

My daughter and I stayed one night recently and enjoyed the pool. The rooms were very clean, and everyone on staff was friendly. Donna at the check-in desk made sure we had what we needed and was wonderful. We’ll definitely come back next summer. The Hyannis Inn is a lovely place to stay.

The room seemed decent and had clearly been remodeled at some point. A few things brought it down: the mattress was VERY firm, the bright light outside came through the curtains, and the toilet paper was the thinnest, cheapest single-ply I’ve ever seen. I’d put it at about 3.5 stars.

The room was fine after the maintenance problem, but the way staff handled it means I would never stay here again. On our second morning, after we’d returned with fresh towels and assumed the bathroom had been cleaned as requested, housekeeping came knocking while I was in the shower. My companion explained several times that someone was using the bathroom, but the housekeeper kept trying to let herself into the room before finally leaving. I went to the desk afterward to say housekeeping could come back. The front desk said it was a language barrier and that housekeeping had gone for the day. Yet the housekeeper who’d tried to enter was still there and walked into the office. The desk staff had lied to my face and said nothing when she came in. This started with a maintenance issue on our first evening, which I understand can happen. There was no housekeeping or maintenance worker on duty, and we were told they’d clean up first thing in the morning. “No” is easy to understand, and trying to enter while someone is showering was an extreme invasion of privacy and completely inappropriate. We were there for two nights over the weekend, and staff seemed unprofessional, unhelpful, and unwilling to make an effort to solve a problem we hadn’t caused.

My room went uncleaned for a week even though I asked, and there was no phone or microwave. I couldn’t communicate with anyone in English. The manager was extremely rude, said I had to leave or be charged for an extra day, and then charged me anyway. There are plenty of other places to stay in Hyannis where you won’t be treated so badly. I’m too angry to list all my other complaints. Don’t stay here. If I’d had a car, I’d have preferred to stay in IT.
