Rick was gracious and let us look at the rooms before we booked. We’d driven from Tulsa to Broken Bow for a ministry retreat, and our first hotel smelled awful and everyone got bites from something. Motel 8 was recommended, so we called around and drove over. The rooms were clean, with a microwave and 4-cu-ft refrigerator in each. The showers were soothing, and we had a pleasant stay. Rick even carried my bags and my friend’s upstairs to the room. Thanks for being awesome, Rick. I recommend staying here.

We stopped for a night so the baby could rest, and Super 8 charged $25 per pet per night. With an infant, they put us next door to a smoking room, and roaches crawled all over us. The prices were premium too. Absolutely disgusting. P.S. Be wary of the good reviews. They must be fake or bought.

The free continental breakfast was really good, with mini waffles, fruit, muffins, sausage biscuits, and more. Management even came by to apologize for the commotion from other guests next door. It was a great experience, and I’d highly recommend it. The hotel is older, but the remodeled rooms make it hard to tell: fresh paint, furniture, art, and appliances. Our bathroom was cute and very clean, with a large updated mirror and LED lighting that made grooming and makeup easy. We had an apartment-size refrigerator, a desk, a small couch and coffee table, and a super-comfy king bed with lovely feather pillows. The AC worked great. It was a very nice hotel and a good price for the area.

Roaches came out of the microwave, the room was nasty, smelled like dirty sheets, and the shower leaked. The door wouldn’t lock, and someone came into my room twice while I was asleep. When I told the owner, he called me a liar and said I was trying to get money from him. He claimed nobody else could unlock the room once I had the key, but the owner has a master key for every room. He was creepy and would stare me down whenever I left. Every morning around 7 it was really loud. If you bring up any problem, he says you’re lying, tells you to get off his property, and says not to come back. All the rooms look the same and cost the same. For that money I could have stayed somewhere cleaner and better looking. Nothing seems to have been updated in years; it still looks old, like from the 1600s. I’d be better off sleeping in a cabin. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

We checked in for the May long weekend and had two problems. There was no bathroom lock in our room. We also had no Wi-Fi connection, despite seeing lots of networks. None accepted the passwords we were given, and we had no phone service, so we relied heavily on Wi-Fi to look up local places and hours. They said several times they’d check and get back to us, but never did.
