My boss booked me a room here while my truck was at the dealership, and I’d been nervous after reading about bedbugs. I didn’t find any bugs or parasites, and the room and bedding were very clean. The hotel is smoke-free, so the halls felt fresh. The rooms are basic and maybe a little dated, but it was quiet, clean, and the service was 10/10. The area is excellent, with everything within walking distance, and the staff were the best part. Based on my stay, the bug reports may be about a past problem. I had a positive experience.

After the remodel, the hotel looks great. The TVs are brand new, the beds were really comfortable, and our room was spotless with fresh towels and a cupboard that had clearly been restocked. We arrived very late after driving into town for the IU/Ohio state game, and Joe at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. He explained the WiFi codes, showed us how to adjust the heat in our rooms, and later got us ice when we realized we had none. It’s unusual to get such a nice place and such helpful night staff together.

I’m already speaking with a lawyer about someone entering my room without permission. While I was inside, a housekeeper tried to open the door with a knife. There are roaches around the laundry machines, no ice machine, and they give out trash bags of ice. The property isn’t cleaned, and anyone who’s seen with you can get into your room. Sam at the front desk also messed up my payments. They pretty much begged me for a review because spring and summer were coming and they needed the money. Avoid this trap spot. Roaches are here.

The side entrance wouldn’t lock at night, and that made us feel unsafe. We also weren’t told ahead of time that the pool was closed. When I asked, the front desk agent called me a liar and claimed it was posted everywhere, even though it wasn’t. I then had to tell my autistic child, who’d been excited to swim, that the pool was closed. That was heartbreaking. Our room was filthy, with sticky fingerprints on surfaces, stained towels, and bedding that smelled unwashed. There was no coffee maker, and the tray on top of the microwave was covered in cigarette burns. Basic cleaning and upkeep clearly weren’t a priority. After seeing the room, we didn’t trust the breakfast area enough to eat there. They refused any refund. The stay at this Wyndham property was unacceptable from beginning to end. I wouldn’t recommend it or consider becoming a Wyndham owner.
