Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Indianapolis North

The beds were so comfortable that I slept like a rock, and the kitchen made it easy to warm the baby’s bottles. Breakfast was much better than I expected, with the two women working there keeping everything clean and stocked. The location worked well for everything we had planned while visiting, and the place felt like a good option based on the reviews that led me to book it. The bathroom was a letdown: someone else’s hair on the floor really grossed me out, and the shower didn’t look very clean either. The pool was closed, and I hadn’t realized it was outdoors, so the kids were really disappointed after we brought our swimsuits. Still, it was a nice little place overall.

The room was furnished well, and the night was peaceful. It was one of the least expensive places in the area and felt worth the price. Breakfast is basic, the building doesn’t look great from outside, and the pool is the smallest I’ve ever seen. The tub faucet was dripping, too. For an affordable, clean overnight stay with breakfast choices, it’s a good deal.

It has a nice apartment-like feel, with a good-sized kitchen, living area, bedroom space, and a full bathroom. It’s all one large room, but the way it’s arranged makes the layout work nicely. The staff are nice, parking is great, and there’s security. Getting to 465 is easy, and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. This would suit someone staying a week or longer.

The main concern for me is the tub safety. It curves along the ends and the full length, has almost no grip when wet, and becomes extremely slippery and easy to fall in. The safety rail is at the front, between the tub and toilet, instead of at the back where most people get into the tub. I took pictures of that, as well as the dust, dirt, and other cleanliness issues in our second room. Our first room had ants heading toward the dishwasher and main entrance. It seemed the dishwasher hadn’t been run since the previous guests. The renovations look like an attempt to update the rooms that didn’t come together well, and the second room was dirty. The employees were friendly, welcoming, and kind, so I don’t think this is a staff problem. It seems more like a training, renovation, or ownership issue.
