Holiday Inn Express & Sts Indianapolis Northwest

“All these reviews are bots!!” Some of y'all are delusional. My husband and I stayed one night with our two dogs, and this was a fantastic stay for a budget hotel. The pet fee is reasonable, and the receptionist was lovely and kind. The room was clean. It looked like they were renovating or had just finished, since some features looked newer, like the tub tap. The tub itself had a little chip on the edge. Aside from that, we had a wonderful stay and will likely choose this hotel again when we travel that way!

The breakfast area was clean and well stocked, with a hearty meal. The host was welcoming and appreciated our IHG membership, giving us a welcome gift bag. Our room needed closer inspection, though: the clock didn't work properly and the bed mattress sagged. See pictures. We like Holiday Inn Express, but we're finding that many properties are aging and no longer seem worth a 3-star rating at this price. I think IHG is being ripped off by contractors doing poor, incomplete renovations. We stayed at a Hilton Spark the night before for much less, and it was better cared for.

Helpful staff and very clean rooms. The breakfast sausages were a bit dry, my only quibble, but everything else was great. There are lots of local restaurants within walking distance, which was a nice bonus.

The room already looked poorly maintained, with cracked bathroom tiles and a stained couch. Then, as I was about to fall asleep, I saw a bedbug crawling across my pillow toward my face. I jumped out of bed and told my distraught wife to do the same. There was also a large stink bug in the bed, and the bedbug looked like it had fed recently, possibly on the previous guest. I’ve never encountered pests like that in a bed. We bagged the bugs and took them to the front desk. They apologized and offered another room, but I asked for a refund. At 1:30 a.m., we moved the family through the snow to the Hilton across the street. I’m writing this from there, still feeling crawly. The staff were friendly, but that didn’t make up for it.
