Shadeland Inn Indianapolis

The room was filthy, and instead of the usual hotel comforter there was just a small blanket on the bed. I was charged $90 for one night and put beside the desk, where I could hear everyone coming and going, even after I asked for a decent room since I was paying. I had just seen the desk guy give a woman a good room with two beds for two nights when she said she only had $40. There's no pool or complimentary breakfast, and once taxes pushed it over $100, there were plenty of better choices. This is a low class motel.

I stayed for two weeks. My sheets were never changed even though I asked, and getting towels or toilet paper meant asking the staff, which was difficult because they didn't speak English. I found roaches in the hallway and one in my room. The room's desk was against a wall with no outlet, so I had to work from my bed. There's no elevator, and sometimes people were very noisy at night.

The toilet tank was missing its back, and I had to reach in and push the stopper down to keep the water from running. I also heard something crawling over me as I walked down the hall from the office to my room, and saw two roaches. The sheets didn't fit the bed. I paid $217 for a week, which wasn't bad apart from all that. It seems like this place must have been nice once, but it isn't now.

The room looked clean, but roaches were there, and the desk person acted like it was normal when I reported them. He calmly said he'd have it sprayed for bugs, as if it wasn't surprising. It also took 20 minutes to get a room because the front desk person had stepped away. For $70 plus a $30 deposit, the room wasn't worth it.
