Homewood Suites by Hilton Indianapolis-Downtown

The staff were the bright spot during our group’s stay at this Homewood Suites in Indianapolis. The front-line employees were kind, professional, and clearly trying hard to help everyone, despite the state of the rooms. Several rooms used by our companions had air-conditioning that didn’t work at all, and we saw other guests dealing with the same problem. The rooms also looked neglected: furniture was very worn, with stains and other obvious wear. Management needs to put money into the building and replace that furniture. The employees deserve credit, but the facilities need serious attention.

The room design struck a nice balance between clean modern lines and warm timber details, and there was plenty of movable furniture to make the space feel homey. We travel with our dogs a lot, so the roomy setup and kitchenette were especially handy. The staff were lovely, with a special shoutout to the valets. We did have one cold night when the heat stopped working. With those high ceilings, we wondered if we’d entered the next Ice Age. It was fixed the following morning, though, and we had a very pleasant stay.

April M. kept in touch and was a huge help throughout our large group conference. Angela P. made breakfast memorable with her great food and warm welcome in the lobby. The rooms were beautiful and spacious, and the reception staff were very accommodating when we arrived. Highly recommend!

Our club dropped out of the tournament just hours before check-in, so we had to cancel after the “storm of the century” had already kept us from staying. April was incredibly helpful and made me feel valued, offering a refund and waiving the cancellation fee before I even asked. Earlier, when I called about extending the stay, the woman I spoke to patiently answered my questions about valet and checked my room type. She was kind and found a discounted rate lower than our stay-to-play rate. I’d heard stories of other hotels hanging up on people, so I’m grateful for the service from the Homewood Suites staff. We’ll choose them whenever we’re in Indy. Thank you!
