La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Indianapolis Airport Executive Dr

The highway traffic was loud, and the room smelled so bad that after trying to breathe that air for about an hour, I checked out and moved to another hotel. I've never done that before because money doesn't grow on trees. I had an early flight, and since there was no shuttle service as advertised, I also had to keep my rental car an extra day. The place was filthy. Stains on the sheets and pillowcases, with pillowcases so worn they were see-through. I don't know what was in the carpet, but taking my shoes off was a mistake. This may be the dirtiest, nastiest hotel I've stayed in in 30 years. Do not book here or throw good money away.

In two weeks, I had only one employee greet me or smile. I went to the desk three times and had to wait each time. They always had a sign saying they were away helping guests, but the staff were around the corner on their phones. The room was poorly equipped and not looked after. The heater was dirty and broken, and made it boiling hot even set to 65°. Some lights didn't work, the microwave was gross, fridge shelves were missing, and even the mirror was dirty. The iron didn't work, the ironing board was broken, and there was no hair dryer. I had no "do not disturb" sign, though nobody came to clean anyway. I took out my own trash and had to get towels and blankets myself. We booked for two weeks and got 3 towels and 2 washcloths, with no replacements unless we brought the dirty ones to the desk. Two of the three of us also had chairs that leaned to one side. Two coworkers and I each got a room for work. Breakfast was all bread, waffles, cereal, muffins, bagels. That's not "breakfast". All in all, not a great experience.

I've stayed at many La Quinta locations across the United States, but this Indianapolis one was by far the worst. I'm extremely dissatisfied and will most likely switch hotel brands. The room needed better cleaning, and the tub and sink took ages to drain. The front desk lady seemed completely lost and had a super hard time checking me in. Breakfast had nothing worth choosing, the coffee was burnt, and the milk was sour. I mentioned it to the desk lady, and she didn't care.

The location is handy for the airport, with a couple stores for cigarettes, chips and things like that, plus gas nearby. There's a waffle place about 3 blocks away and a dollar store 4 blocks away. It's generally clean in the common areas, but only okay for a quick overnight, not an extended stay if you're used to nicer places. Service is horrible. The front desk is rude and room service is nonexistent. It snowed heavily, and the lot is still icy because nobody was contracted to clear it, while the other hotel lots nearby have been cleared. Be careful walking or parking there. They do have breakfast, but it's not worth it, and you can't take anything from there to your room. This is not the LA Quinta from the TV commercials.
