TownePlace Suites by Marriott Indianapolis Airport

The staff were good, which is about the only positive I can point to. We got in after 11 p.m. and found an uncleaned room, with food and blood on the sheets and popcorn all over the floor. We had to remake the bed and clean up without a vacuum. Early morning noise from the FedEx facility and airport could be unbearable, though they do provide earplugs. I left a message for the manager and was still waiting for a return call a week later. Such a disappointing stay.

The pool was great, and the staff were awesome, friendly, and helpful. Breakfast was continental and included, just as the website said. Our room was spacious with a well-equipped kitchen. The coffee maker only takes single-cup pods, and they provide some, but bring your own if you have a favorite.

We chose this hotel specifically for its amenities, then arrived to find it fully booked and were sent somewhere else. We were assured the replacement had a pool, but it didn't. By the time we got there, every dining area was closed, so we ended up with gas station pizza down the road. The lack of communication was baffling. When I called to ask for a deep discount or a comped room to make up for the hassle and disappointment, they offered only $20 off a future stay. A call beforehand would have let me choose another hotel for myself. I absolutely wouldn't recommend it.

Every employee I dealt with gave amazing customer service. There was a cleaning problem when I checked into my room, but I called the front desk and they addressed and fixed it quickly and thoroughly. Breakfast was great, too. The hotel isn't close to food places, though there are plenty within a 10-minute drive.
