Wingate by Wyndham Indianapolis Airport-Rockville Rd.

The pool was closed for remodeling, and I wish we'd been told before arriving since we packed all our pool things. That was the worst part of the stay. The rooms were great despite renovation work still going on, and every staff member we met was kind and respectful. The location is perfect.

The bed was comfortable and the shower was nice, though it took a while for hot water to arrive. The couch worked but was worn, and there were a few dust bunnies behind and under the bed. Sheets had a couple of small stains, nothing major, and I didn't see any bugs. It was relatively clean overall, apart from a cigarette smell. The hotel is right off the highway.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel. We had a pet, so being placed downstairs made sense, but our room was right by the front entrance. People checking in and using the elevator were yelling through the night. The towels and sheets were stained, and one lamp was broken and hanging off the wall. The side entrance wouldn't accept our key cards, and apparently other people's cards didn't work either, so everyone had to go around to the front. People kept banging on that door until someone came to help, which added more noise and kept us awake.

The room's temperature controls were frustrating. The hotel had the heat and AC set up so that going below 72 automatically switched on the AC, so we ended up turning the unit off. Neither of the USB-C outlets by the bed worked, which meant I couldn't charge my phone. The parking lot and some sidewalks were still covered in snow from the previous weekend, and some spaces couldn't be used. We had to carry our bags through the snow from the car. I only learned on the day of our stay, after booking through Priceline, that the pool was closed for renovation. I had specifically searched for a hotel with a pool, and Priceline didn't mention the closure. The hotel wasn't the worst I've stayed in, but it was close. I went to dinner at another Wingate near the airport and the difference was night and day, even though it was listed online at the same price. If you're looking to be annoyed and inconvenienced at every turn, pick this one.
