The staff we dealt with were helpful and friendly, and we had no problems with them. The room itself felt dirty, though, and the toilet made a loud mechanical whirring sound every time it flushed. Online photos also made the property look much better than it was. The location is only okay: it’s farther from LAX than I expected, and there’s no airport shuttle. We also ran into a few rude guests, which isn’t the hotel’s fault. It might do in a pinch, but the cleanliness and photos need attention before I’d recommend it.

The one good thing is the airport shuttle. Otherwise, I’d tell people to stay away. The rooms are old, hot water takes ages, and there’s no elevator, so you have to haul your luggage upstairs. The rooms around the pool need to be torn down. Right beside the highway, it’s so loud you can’t sleep until after 2:30 a.m. Easily the worst hotel I’ve stayed in.

My family really enjoyed the stay, and the grounds were immaculate. The pool felt like a little oasis, and they provided towels without any trouble. They may even open it early if you ask. Breakfast was good and plentiful. I’d give the beds a 4 because they could use some improvement, but otherwise I’d highly recommend the place. Thanks to Dee for managing the property so well, and to Lupe for great breakfast service and help with anything housekeeping.

For an early flight, the location was hard to beat, just minutes from the airport, with easy access to the free shuttle. That made checking in before my morning departure simple. My room was clean and comfortable, the mattress and pillows were decent, and the bathroom was basic but well kept. Towels, toiletries, and coffee were all in good shape. I had a good stay at the Best Western Airpark Hotel near LAX.

It did the job for one night, but I wouldn’t call it a great hotel or motel. We arrived an hour and a half early, tired and hungry, to find the hotel empty, and they still charged us 30 USD just to put our luggage in the room. Was that really necessary? Nobody was even there, so what was the charge for?
