Residence Inn Columbia Northwest

Check-in was a nightmare, and the staff member was rude and argumentative. The only one-bedroom option was on the top floor. I’m handicapped and can’t use stairs, so I’m worried about what would happen if there were a fire. I also have a service dog, but she argued with me because I wouldn’t sign a form saying I wouldn’t take the dog into places like the breakfast area. She’s not a pet. Marriott needs a separate form for service animals so I don’t have to go through this every time I check in. Marriott needs to do better.

The room was spacious, clean, and really nice, with lots of amenities. It was quiet and I slept well, and I’d stay again. The location was good too, near plenty of shopping and restaurants. Breakfast came with the stay, but wasn’t great: the eggs were overcooked and burnt underneath, and the oatmeal was gone, so I cooked my own food in the room. The front desk staff knew their stuff and were helpful. They greeted me every time I came in or went out, which was a little over the top, but a nice gesture. Thanks for the hospitality.

I’m extremely dissatisfied and won’t stay at this property again. There was no maintenance person on duty after 4 p.m., and during our stay the problems in the room weren’t fixed. The toilet ran constantly, the towel rack came apart, the air conditioner was malfunctioning, and the carpet was torn. On the first day, the living room TV didn’t work. I was told nothing could be done until the next day and to use the TVs in the bedrooms instead. Even if maintenance had been available, I doubt anything would have been repaired. I should be compensated for such a horrible stay.

The room was decent, though it showed some wear, and breakfast was average. They said it would be cleaned after two nights, but nobody came. The TV tilted sideways when I swivelled it toward the bed. They promised maintenance would come fix it, but no one showed up. I wouldn’t return since they don’t seem able to keep their word.
