The front desk staff were friendly, but the rest of my stay at the Atrium Hotel and Suites was awful. American Airlines gave me a voucher, and I’m pretty sure stranded passengers are the only reason this place stays in business. It’s easily the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. Even if your night is free, the time wasted getting there from the airport is a major downside. Don’t accept the voucher. Shame on American Airlines for partnering with them. Avoid it. The building feels depressing, with old damage painted over every few years, a total landlord special. Blinding cool white bulbs everywhere make the lobby, halls, and rooms feel terrible instead of relaxing. The room was dated and grimy, with no care put into upkeep. The bed was ridiculously uncomfortable and I had a horrible night’s sleep. At 1:30 am the A/C woke us with a loud screech, so we had to pack up and move to another room.

We stayed in room 350 for a baseball tournament on May 16 2026. My husband and I both have bites all over our stomachs, backs, and arms. I just saw my doctor, and they confirmed they were mite bites. The place is old and gross, and the pool was nasty and cold. The workers were nice, which was the only positive. Do NOT recommend.

Being close to the airport is the main perk. The rooms are fine, though the walls are thin enough that I heard the person next door snoring. The airport shuttle was convenient, but the driver was pretty rude. I overheard him refuse to take a passenger to her terminal and drop her at a different one instead.

The food was delicious, and check-in at the front desk was quick. Still, the service wasn’t helpful. Even at a small hotel, staff should have a better attitude and explain where the rooms are, how to get there, and where the restaurants are. The thing I disliked most was finding cockroaches everywhere, in the lobby, the restaurant area, and inside the rooms.

After several gate and time changes led to my flight cancellation, American Airlines offered me a complimentary hotel stay and food voucher. The Atrium Hotel and Suites looked nice and had a shuttle I could request through their website. It directed me to a designated waiting area and let me track the driver, a bit like Uber. At a large airport like DFW, it was reassuring to know the ride was on its way instead of just waiting. Pickups ran every half hour from 6 am to 10 pm, and hourly overnight from 10 pm to 6 am. I think I was at Terminal B, though I’m not sure. The website apparently gave me the wrong level, so I had to go down one. It seems this has happened before: the driver called when he arrived and told me to go down a level. I understood the heavy accent, luckily, but I’m not sure other passengers would. That’s something they need to fix on the website. I got to the hotel close to 2 am. The layout was unusual, with what looked like an outdoor patio actually looking into the main lobby. There was an indoor pool, bar, little gift shop, restaurant, and gym. The website mentions car rentals, but it looked like that was for airline employees only, which they should clarify. If rentals were available to any guest, I’d have given five stars. My room was spacious and I got some rest. Checkout was at noon, so I rebooked my flight for later and slept in a bit. I wasn’t up for a 6 am flight, and there was no need for one. My plans were pretty much ruined by then. It was a decent stay for the situation, and if I get stranded in Dallas again, I guess I’d go here. lol. In the lobby bathroom, a strip of toilet paper covered the gap between the wall and the stall. See my photo. lol
