Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Dallas DFW Airport North/ Irving

The indoor pool and hot tub area were beautiful and super clean, and the room was clean too, with a lovely smell and plenty of fresh towels each day. Breakfast had lots of delicious options. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel is near the airport, with plenty of food and shopping about 5 to 10 minutes away. I really enjoyed staying at this Fairfield and would happily come back.

I’ll never stay here again after dealing with the assistant GM. The water in my room wasn’t hot and the pressure was low. I reported it to the front desk during my stay, and was told other guests had complained too and the associate herself had experienced the same lack of hot water. I mentioned that in a private service survey, along with saying everything else was satisfactory. The manager, who corrected a staff member at check-in for not calling him DOCTOR, emailed to apologize and hint at compensation, then invited me to call. The email and the phone call felt like two different people. On the phone, he said the water wasn’t hot because the room was ADA, basically telling me I asked for it and got what I got. He was unprofessional, unapologetic, and hung up on me. You won’t speak to me in that tone, whatever higher-ups thought qualified you to be Assistant GM. That ego at check-in should’ve been a clue. I also asked about data charges, but that was only an inquiry because I didn’t know what they were. I’d bought extra data for optimal streaming on a Fire Stick, but couldn’t use it because staff didn’t know how to help with the errors on screen. I asked if hotel tech support could assist, and they said they’d get back to me, but never did. So I never used the stick and asked about the charges for data I’d bought for nothing. Get your information right, Sir Madam. If all ADA rooms have no hot water, guests should know before booking or check-in. This nasty-attitude manager ruined my day. Marriott should vet its managers better. I’ve copied the email below because it sounded professional, while the person I got on the phone was atrocious. The email was signed Dr. Deon Woods, MBA, D.D., Assistant General Manager, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Dallas DFW Airport. It apologized for the water temperature and pressure problems, said reliable hot water was a basic need, especially for medical needs, and took responsibility on behalf of the team. It also said the feedback had been escalated to engineering and leadership for review and corrective action, and regretted not addressing the complaint or compensation more effectively. Part of the email was cut off by the review’s character limit.

After a long, delayed, frustrating flight from New York, Dr. Deon Woods D. D. and his staff went out of their way to help my whole family feel at home. The hotel was amazing and more accommodating than we expected. Their service went beyond what you normally get these days. He’s an asset to Marriott, and I highly recommend this property. The room was clean and had a microwave and fridge, and I liked the furnishings. Staff were friendly, and breakfast was hot and free. The hotel was beautiful, and I’d stay again.
