Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Marriott

The lobby areas were amazing, and the staff were super friendly. I had a great view of planes landing from my very clean room. It was a little old, but still had a nice modern feel, though the bathrooms weren't the best. It's around $50-100 more per night than the Sheraton and Westin, but overall I'm happy to stay here again. This is the best Marriott property near the DFW Airport.

I was on the 18th floor in a room facing the runway. It was somewhat small, but everything was in order. The bathroom was decent sized, with a sliding door for privacy. The shower had two heads and decent pressure, though it could have been stronger. The toilet took forever to flush, and that needs to be addressed. You can see the DFW runway from some rooms, which is great if, like me, you enjoy watching planes land. The hotel is in a great location next to the airport, and the building feels pretty modern, with a nice lobby. There's a bar and restaurant just off the lobby that I didn't try. The check-in desk is easy to reach, and there are four convenient elevators. To get to the fitness center, you go through the pool area, which isn't locked off, and then use your key card for entry. Towels and water fountains are there. One day there were no water bottles in the fridge, but the next day there were. The weight stack equipment selection is pretty good. The cardio equipment needs work: all three ellipticals were noisy, and something needed tightening, so using them felt kind of dangerous. There's also a pool and whirlpool, with towels available.

The M lounge staff and the restaurant team were nice. It's a good spot if you have a car, though not so convenient for walking. The freeway noise wasn't too bad. The rooms looked updated, but the HVAC couldn't switch between heat and AC. In hot weather it was still in winter mode, and maintenance had to come to “switch a valve” in multiple rooms. I changed rooms because the pullout couch was stained and a little moldy. Most of the street lamps in the parking lot were out. The front desk mistakenly checked me out a day early and charged me for water I hadn't used. In fact, no employees had been in my room for 4days since check-in. They corrected it, but resolving problems here became a constant hassle, from replacement bedding to wrong charges. Three-star hotel at best.

Great location, but the hotel feels old and very tired. Even on the upper floors, you hear planes and freeway noise. For the price, they need better windows and soundproofing. A beer and salad cost a lot, and the gym had mismatched equipment, some of it broken. There was obvious water damage on our room ceiling. I expected much better from a Marriott. The next night I stayed at a Courtyard for half the price, and it felt much fresher. The difference was huge.
