Islander Resort

We loved how the daily activities and little treats made each day feel like paradise: popsicles, coconut drinks, sea salt scrub making, astronomy, and movie night by the pool. The staff were so professional and welcoming throughout, and they treated our kids wonderfully. Every person we met helped make it feel like a home away from home. Danielle was constantly on the move and gave us the best poolside service all day. Camille was a lot of fun, and her personality and dance moves kept the kids excited to see her every day. Paris worked so hard clearing seaweed from the shore so we could get a closer look at the marine life. Marcel and the seaside watersports staff were friendly and got us going quickly. Our son was hard to pull away from the pier once he learned there were fishing poles. Valner and the whole housekeeping and laundry team helped make the vacation stress-free. We couldn’t believe how quickly our laundry came back, neatly folded like it had been done professionally. The female bartender was sweet and accommodating with all the kids’ requests. We’d nearly booked Isla Bella Beach Resort in Marathon, but after a trip there, we’re so glad we chose this place instead. We can’t wait to return and hope it’s soon.

The rooms were nice and clean, and the location was beautiful, very close to the ocean. We were here for our honeymoon, but the service was average at best. Mexico had wait staff who were better and more motivated. We ate off the resort several times because a simple Caesar salad on site costs $36, which is overpriced. For breakfast, I’d recommend Mangrove Mike’s or Laurelai’s. We really enjoyed Marker 88 and Square Grouper for dinner.

I had a delicious meal at the Drift restaurant on New Year’s Eve, and the lobster was great. The resort itself was peaceful and clean, with welcoming staff. I met Camille, who has an amazing personality and interacted with us and other guests. I watched her for a while because her customer service was so good. After more than 10 years in customer service myself, I can say she knows how to stay professional while making people feel at home and relaxed. We need more workers like her. If you want a clean, peaceful place with friendly, professional staff and great food, visit this resort. I absolutely recommend it.

Sarah and Monique at the front desk handled a small issue with our first room right away. They offered us another one that was even better and closer to the beach, and they were understanding and sweet about it. It was a quick, thoughtful fix for something that wasn’t a big deal to begin with. My partner and I visited the Islander Resort over the holidays for a peaceful little getaway. The resort is gorgeous, and the service was the best part. Everyone working there was friendly, kind, and helpful. Thanks to Sarah, Monique, and the rest of the team for making the trip so relaxing and stress-free!
