I’ve used the Hotel Ithaca lot since I was 16, back when it was often almost empty, so seeing what it’s become is upsetting. Tow trucks seemed to be waiting nearby for people to park, which made it feel like drivers were being targeted instead of given a warning. With downtown parking already hard to find, I worry this could hurt businesses that depend on people coming downtown. I was gone less than 45 minutes to pick up dinner when my car was towed. There were restriction signs, but no clear contact details, enforcement hours, or explanation of who ran the lot. Locals had used it for years as overflow parking when street spaces were scarce. Getting help afterward was frustrating too. Hotel staff were dismissive and mostly unapologetic. Sara tried to reach management, but neither manager answered. I know the hotel may not run the towing operation, but nobody did much to help with the cost and inconvenience or show empathy. The tow company was hard to reach, took cash only, and made us meet at a pickup spot that felt questionable. Its representatives were rude and unprofessional throughout. If you’re visiting downtown Ithaca and staying at Hotel Ithaca, make sure you have the right pass and know the rules before leaving your car. This was one of the most disrespectful and inconvenient customer service experiences I’ve had, and it left me wondering if I want to return downtown.

The room was clean, new, and really spacious, and we had a great stay with time to use the pool. Sarah was fabulous and sorted out our reservation after I accidentally booked the wrong weekend.

We were there for the 2026 convo weekend, and the hotel is conveniently close to both Cornell and downtown Ithaca. Even though we arrived very late on Friday, the staff greeted us warmly and were kind. On checkout day I left my cosmetic bag in the washroom. They went to the trouble of finding it and getting it to my sister in Ithaca. Thank you!

The location is good, but this place feels badly neglected and needs an upgrade. Our rooms weren't cleaned well, and cleaning has to be requested instead of being automatic. The fridge was so noisy we unplugged it. The shampoo dispenser was empty, and my son's room had conditioner in both dispensers. We pointed it out, but they weren't refilled. I do not recommend it.

For $270 after tax, this was a complete waste of money. I booked their most expensive room, the King executive suite, and the heat wasn't working. It was 21 degrees outside, and there was no heat in the room or anywhere in the hotel. The room was dirty when I arrived, with drink marks and cups on the table and crumbs on the floor. The patio door had a broken handle and lock and wouldn't open. In the shower, water came from both the faucet and shower head, leaving me standing in three inches of water. I tried the extra large jacuzzi bath instead, but its jacuzzi features didn't work. The furniture was scratched, the lampshades bent, and the TV remotes were broken and missing their backs. The TVs, from 2010, only had local cable. They hadn't plowed the parking lot, so finding a space was difficult. The elevator had just one working light and was dark and felt dangerous. Awful experience, I wouldn't recommend staying here.
