The views, spa, and spacious rooms at Amangani were beautiful, but the prices for extras felt extreme given what we already paid per night. Our ride to town and back in the hotel car cost $124, which we hadn't realized was a charge. On an excursion, the three of us each ordered the picnic breakfast burrito, and they came to almost $40 apiece. Another breakfast, just two juices, two smoothies, water, and coffee, cost $129. It felt like a lot of money was being squeezed out of us. We also had trouble reaching staff by phone to arrange things and didn't get calls back. We weren't too upset about that on its own, but for a luxury resort at this price, we expected better service. We'd suggest staying somewhere else where your money goes further.

The resort itself is gorgeous and tucked away while still convenient, with plenty to do whether you want to ski or relax. The family friendly feel, ski shuttle, ski lounge, hot chocolate bar, and live music all made the stay memorable. Special thanks to Andrew at the ski lounge. The restaurant booking for NYE was frustrating. We were told it was full, but it stayed nearly empty all night. The excursions we booked through the hotel were disappointing too, and management offered no help when problems came up. The resort is beautiful, but I'd set dining expectations in advance and avoid booking excursions through the hotel.

I've had some of my most unforgettable vacations in the US here. The resort was outstanding, the service impeccable, and all three excursions were unforgettable. Everyone was so welcoming and accommodating. Aman has won me over for good. It's definitely expensive, but if you can afford a $1,500-a-night room, you should expect to pay a lot for everything else too. I wish I could give it ten stars. Thank you all so much! 😊

Red at the front desk was incredibly kind. When my baby was crying at 4 a.m., he brought me milk, and all the drivers were friendly and helpful. The basic suite was large enough for a baby, and the location felt secluded, like wilderness, while still being close enough to town. The slow restaurant service was the worst I've had anywhere. Drinks sometimes arrived after we'd finished eating, and cocktails in the lounge could take an hour. Pricing also felt unclear and deceptive. You could leave the restaurant without signing a check or checking the bill, and our folio included two massages we never had. I might have been charged if I hadn't checked the details. There was a laundry basket in our room, but no sign or explanation that it would be taken for dry cleaning. It was, and I was charged. We also didn't know the car service cost extra. Maybe the place was so hyped that I expected too much, but for the price it came up short. The room was hot at night, and the thermostat didn't seem to change the temperature.

We had a really good meal at the Amangani restaurant. The fondue and mushroom appetizers were delicious, and I split the chicken breast and veal, which looked and tasted like schnitzel. We finished every bit. The menu has a wide selection of wine and liquor, plus local beers and tasty cocktails. It's certainly pricey, but I'd recommend it if you're staying on the Butte.
