Comfort Inn & Suites Jackson - West Bend

The hotel is run down, though nothing was terribly major, and the hot tub looked rusty. Breakfast was decent. But the day staff were so rude and unpleasant that we felt completely unwelcome, even though we were paying like everyone else. We had small children and needed to carry all our things up a flight of stairs. There is no elevator, and unless you know that beforehand, you won't find out until you're there. The staff member wasn't sympathetic at all and seemed to hate her job. We won't return, and I'll make sure our cheer team stays somewhere else when we're traveling for competitions.

Breakfast was plentiful and well attended to, with eggs, sausage, waffles, toast, boxed doughnuts, cereal, fruit, and drinks. We didn't use the pool or hot tub, but both were working. Our room was roomy enough for two queen beds. The carpets were worn, and the bathroom trim was rusty and worn too. The tub wouldn't hold water. I tried using a washcloth to slow the drain so I could take a bath, but it still emptied so quickly I had to keep adding water every few minutes.

I booked a room for my sister through booking.com, but when she arrived, the woman at the front desk said there was no reservation. I had booking.com call, and the desk staff still insisted nothing was there. She made fun of the caller's accent and refused to refresh her screen or check whether she'd entered the confirmation number correctly. I understand there might've been a system problem, but she was needlessly rude and disrespectful.

The manager reached out afterward, which I appreciate. He seems kind, so ask for him if you run into problems. That was a welcome follow-up, because the staff on every shift had been awful and unhelpful, and I was shocked by how they treated guests. We had several rooms for out-of-state guests for a Slinger wedding. Our room, 221, had a huge, very noticeable carpet stain right in the walkway. The location was convenient to the freeway, but the rude staff and gross floor made it far too expensive for what we got.
