Flat Creek Inn

Being a short drive from town worked well for us, and it was nice not to be right in the middle of everything. We could walk across the street to see the elk herd, and the gas station nearby was handy for food, drinks, or fixing up the car before heading out. I grabbed the free hot chocolate each morning, too. The shower heads could use an update, and the walls are a little thin, but neither was a deal breaker for me. Great spot for the price and location, and I'd stay again.

The staff were easy to talk to and really pleasant. Our room felt homey, and the beds were so comfortable. Having a mini mart on site with free coffee and hot chocolate was a big plus.

We appreciated the beautiful view and found the room spacious and comfortable. For an area where lodging can get expensive, this felt like a solid option. The early noise was tough for me as a light sleeper. From around 5-6 am, people walked up and down the stairs, and the creaky wooden floors carried the sound. The property is also close to the road, so there was some traffic noise. The shower head seemed dated and the water pressure was low. We also spotted some mold in the oven vent, which needs a deep clean. It was comfortable overall, and a few updates could make it better.

At $450+ a night, I expected a clean room without stains on the furniture, better customer service, and even a free continental breakfast. Instead, there was a chair covered in stains, and the free coffee tasted days old. The packaged danishes were stale. Do not recommend! I also called ahead to ask whether shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were supplied so I wouldn't have to bring mine. We got trial-size shampoo and conditioner, plus a tiny bar of soap for body wash. What a joke for $450+.
