Old Capitol Inn

The rooms are a good size, with a sitting area connected to the bedroom. You can close the doors between them, so one person can watch TV while someone else sleeps, and there's another TV in the bedroom. I was on the third floor and had a small balcony overlooking the area, a nice quiet place to sit. The building and its venue area have a lovely view inside. The bathroom was roomy and had what I needed to wash up, though the shower controls were a little odd in my room. Breakfast had a good selection, and the staff were friendly. It's an old-fashioned place, quiet and just off a main road, with a couple of the few restaurants open after 5pm within walking distance. Jackson downtown itself feels empty after 5pm, and most of the people out seemed to be homeless.

The homemade breakfast was great, with fresh biscuits, eggs, and fruit salad, and you can ask the kitchen for an omelette. There's a bar in the lobby, plus a really nice patio and rooftop area. Service was AAA++, everyone attentive and very friendly. Make this your place to stay in town. Don’t stay at a chain hotel if you’re in the area!

The room was comfortable and very clean, and I felt at home even though I was away. Everyone on staff was welcoming and went above and beyond for guests. I loved my stay at the Old Capital Inn.

We found the rooms clean and quiet, and the location was close to everything we wanted to explore. Check-in went smoothly too. This place was absolutely amazing, and I’d highly recommend it.
