Four Winds Motel

The owners were friendly and full of helpful information. Our room was clean and seemed recently renovated, judging by the carpeting, walls, and bathroom. We could walk to nearby shops and restaurants. We wanted a clean, quiet place in a good Jackson Hole location, and this was perfect.

We were only looking for a bed for one night on our way north to the Tetons, but this little motel was much better than we expected. It's an older, no-frills place and by far the most affordable option I found in a very expensive town. You can tell the owners take pride in keeping it well maintained. The rooms were very clean, with fresh bedding, comfortable beds, good air conditioning, and enough space for four adults and all our luggage. There's plenty of parking, and the staff were lovely and helpful. The concrete block walls may not be fancy, but we didn't have to worry about hearing neighbors. It's well placed for getting around. We walked about 8 minutes to The Local and the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar downtown. This isn't a place for luxury, but if you need a reasonably priced, solid motel for a Teton or Yellowstone trip, it works really well. We were so pleased with our stay.

The Four Winds Motel had a charm and experience we couldn't find by splurging on pricier hotels and lodges in expensive Jackson, Wyoming. We stayed in Room 15, which was private, quiet, and sparkling clean, and the beds were comfortable. It was easy to stroll to shops and restaurants, and Jackson's world-famous playhouse was just a block away. The gent who checked us in was an absolute gem.

We chose this place because it was next to the Playhouse, and it was the only one in town under $400 a night. After tax, it came to $250, and I expected more for that. The guy who checked us in was nice enough, and the beds were clean, but the room felt dated. On the same trip we stayed in nicer hotels for much less. Everything here was just fine, but next time I might pay for somewhere nicer or stay outside Jackson.
