Jenna went out of her way to make sure our room was clean before sending us there. We were traveling with an infant and had seen the earlier reviews, so we asked about cleanliness at check-in. The first room didn’t meet her standards, and she moved us to another one. It was spacious and comfortable for our family. We also brought our dog, and the hotel was welcoming to pets, with a treat station at the front desk. Breakfast the next morning was good, and the coffee was hot. We had a very pleasant stay in Jackson.

The pull-out couch in our suite was surprisingly comfortable. Our fifth guest slept on it and said it was one of the best hotel sofa beds they’d tried. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast tasted good, and the staff were helpful and nice. I also appreciated that the room wasn’t full of little appliance and smoke-detector lights, which so many places have and you can’t do anything about. This was a quick stop while we were passing through TN, and the hotel was in a convenient location. We’d definitely stay again if we had the choice.

We stayed twice at this newer hotel while driving between TX and OH for Christmas, once each way, six days apart. It’s conveniently located, and the few employees we spoke with were friendly and helpful. The cleanliness was a big problem. The floor had visible dirt, as if it hadn’t been vacuumed, the pull-out mattress was stained, and the shower floor looked unscrubbed, with visible mold, mildew, and soap scum. Worst of all, we got the exact same room on both trips, and the fitted sheet hadn’t been changed. I’d worn pajama pants that left blue fuzz everywhere, and the fuzz was still on the sheets six days later. Extremely gross!

The staff were professional and incredibly accommodating. The rooms were very clean, and the amenities were on point. Breakfast looked as good as it tasted. We especially liked the spinach danishes with jalapeno ranch sauce and grits. Everything was tasty, and the plates were warm. The bed was another story. The pillows were nearly useless because they were so flat, and a king bed had only three of them. The mattress was one of the most uncomfortable hotel beds I’ve ever tried to sleep on. I got no sleep at all the first night and woke up sore and tired. The second night, I slept on the sofa and my husband slept on the floor. We’re Hilton Honors Reward members and have never had an experience like this. We’ll stay at the Hampton Inn across the interstate on our next trip to Jackson, TN. If not for the staff, this would have been a one-star review. Guests should be able to get comfortable in bed.
