Hyatt Regency Jacksonville

You can arrange a ride on the St John’s River Taxi and board a few blocks away. There's also a 24/7 cafe in the lobby for a quick bite, and third-party booking was hassle-free. Check-in and checkout were convenient, with no long queues. The hotel sits right on the St John’s river, so views are visible from every side, and almost every room has at least a partial river view. The parking lot is directly in front. The views are amazing. The drawback is parking at $35 a day. Finding a street spot may be mission impossible.

We had no trouble with the elevators, despite other reviews saying they were slow. The front desk was polite and helpful, and our housekeeper on the 10th floor, Juana Montilla, was really friendly. We stayed several days in January for a conference with the family. The crib we requested arrived promptly and worked well. We paid about ten dollars extra per night for a river-view room, and the river and bridges were beautiful. The rooftop heated pool was amazing, open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. We rented a car and self-parked across the street for $36 a day. A little expensive, but convenient, safe, and easy. The downtown location is great. We saw one or two homeless people a block away, but they weren't a concern. I'd recommend this hotel.

The cleaning ladies were amazing and really helpful, and the people in the eating area were friendly. The hotel itself was nice, but the front desk staff weren't very welcoming. They didn't greet people coming in, and when we asked about the pool, they didn't know whether the broken gate had been fixed or if the pool could be used. We chose this place because of the pool, so it was frustrating that staff had no information about it.

The room was beautiful and kept clean each day by the housekeeper. I did wish we'd had a river view. I was in Jacksonville for a work conference and really enjoyed my stay, including the nice pool and a couple of different places to eat. Thank you to Rocco and the Hyatt Regency for accommodating the ladies of Local 1694 Wilmington, Delaware. I'd love to stay here again on my next visit.
