Woodbridge Inn & Tavern

That smash burger with dill aioli is still on my mind, and the fries were cooked just right. My husband liked his chicken bowl too, and we finished with a tasty apple streusel. We stopped for dinner after visiting wineries in the area, before heading home, and were surprised by how good everything was, from cocktails and food to the service. We’re used to Atlanta standards. Our server was fantastic and made sure we had everything. I can’t recall her name, but she was very pregnant and working harder than anyone there. Kudos to her and the chef. We’ll be back!

My husband’s plate was just as good as mine: two over easy eggs, bacon, grits, and rye toast. I had country fried steak with gravy, two over easy eggs, and mixed vegetables. We went for brunch this morning and were blown away by both meals. Everything was perfect. We’ll definitely be back.

The breakfast was just right, and we really enjoyed the coffee and pastries. While I was in town for a work class, I stayed here and found the rooms nice. Leslie, the property manager, was welcoming and helpful, and I loved being able to walk to shops and restaurants. On our last night we reserved a table at the Tavern. The food was delicious, and our server Lisa was friendly, even filling my friend’s water bottle for her. It was an amazing stay. If I come back to Jasper, this is where I’ll stay.

The restaurant is quaint and cute, which makes the meal we had on Valentine’s Day even more disappointing. We waited an hour for our entrees. When mine arrived, they told my husband they were out of the dish he’d ordered, so he chose something else and waited another 30 minutes. We finally asked to take it to go. The server had come out at the 40-minute mark to say, “your ticket is at 40 minutes.” There was no discount, and the server didn’t seem phased by any of it. Oof, rough experience. :(
