Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites SANFORD by IHG

We chose this hotel as a middle point for visiting people in Raleigh and Fayetteville. It's centrally located in Sanford, with easy access to fast food, a few local restaurants, and grocery stores, though there isn't much else around. It's tucked behind a gas station and a PDQ in a strange spot. The hotel needs renovation. Apparently work is underway, but every amenity except breakfast was closed. Only the pool closure was mentioned on the website, and had I known about the rest, I would've stayed somewhere else. I tried to tell the manager before leaving, but she answered with sarcasm and excuses. The front desk employee who checked us in was kind and fantastic, and gave much better service. I probably wouldn't come back, but if you're in a pinch like we were, it's okay, I guess.

Breakfast was pretty good, and the front desk folks were sweet and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean, and the staff paid attention to the little details. They'd folded tissues into flowers and made cute bows out of the toilet paper. I'd stay again!

Good quality things like that matter. We really enjoyed the stay, thanks for a great experience.

The room was tidy and the hotel smelled really clean. We had a great one-night stay, and the receptionist was so welcoming, polite, and friendly. I wish I'd gotten her name so I could recognize her. I appreciated the small touches in our conversation, like asking what brought us there and suggesting amenities that suited us. The sweet tea in the lobby was delicious.
