Jay Peak Resort

We booked the two-bedroom condo ski-and-stay package in June for four nights, and a foot of fresh snow arrived just before we did. The ski area and shared spaces were well looked after, and every employee we met was friendly and helpful. The food was a highlight: the poutine at the Foundry Pub was the best I’ve had, the burgers were delicious, and Mountain Dicks had very good pizza. Only snag was the Stateside shuttle, which took 45 minutes to show up. The other shuttles were quick and on time. I’d love to return someday.

I’d seen some negative reviews and was a little nervous, but we had a great time at Jay Peak. Our unit was spotless, nicely set up, and had everything we needed. When we asked for something, staff brought it over within 15 minutes. The staff were personable and professional, including the people at the lifts, who were helpful and really nice. We ate at a few restaurants and enjoyed them too. Really nice experience.

I’ve been buying tickets here for 34 years and counting, and it’s always been a great place to ride. The terrain has lots of variety, with challenges for sure but options for everyone. It still gets snowier than most Vermont mountains, though I don’t think the reported snowfall totals are accurate. They seem to stretch that number a bit. It has more of a big-resort feel now than it did in its heyday. I’m still amazed how busy it gets, given the effort it takes to get here.

We picked Friday, 2/27/2026, hoping it would be less crowded than a weekend. Instead, after driving 1.5 hours, we couldn’t find parking anywhere. Every lot and overflow area was full, so we had to turn around and drive 1.5 hours home. It was incredibly disappointing to lose the ski day, especially after taking time off work. There was no snowstorm or other clear reason for such a crowd, and neither the snow report nor social media mentioned parking might be a problem. The resort was handing out ticket or violation stickers to people parked in places without tow-away zones or signs. I’d like a refund for our unused tickets. I emailed and hope they get back to me. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else who plans a ski day and can’t go because there’s nowhere to park.
