The front desk person was very helpful, which is why I'd give the hotel more than one star. We booked because our kids wanted a hot tub, but it wasn't working and the indoor pool was freezing. Our first room was the larger double, beside the elevators, and we could clearly hear them going up and down. The carpets were torn up and the walls and furniture were beat up; highway noise was loud too. We moved to a smaller double on the other side, away from the elevators, and it was quieter, but the carpet, walls, and furniture were still rough. The sink's cold tap wouldn't turn, and the fridge leaned forward and had to be pushed back to open. It's a tiny room. The sheets and towels were clean and fluffy. The exercise room was fine, though the treadmills are dated and slow to start. Once they got going, one speed and one incline worked fine. Friendly service, but the hotel is very dated and lots of things don't work properly.

The room was good enough when my friend and I stayed in November, but I found a charge for it on my card two months later. I'd booked through expedia and given the card for incidentals at check-in, so it looked like I'd been charged twice. I contacted the hotel and left a message. The next morning I got an email saying the money had been refunded, but there was no apology or explanation. I emailed follow-up questions and got no reply. If you stay, check carefully that they haven't charged you twice. The front desk manager wouldn't offer answers or an apology.

The bathroom was disgusting, and the odor outside the elevator was unpleasant. The room wasn't any better, and I wouldn't eat or drink anything on the property. Having managed and inspected properties for two major hotel brands, I believe this place falls below basic quality assurance standards, and I would take serious action if I inspected it. The owners have let the property slip below Marriott standards. I'll be sending a letter to franchise relations. I read the reviews and wish my friend had done so before booking. Spare me the name excuses.

We stayed on the third floor in September 2025, and our room smelled awful. There was mold on the ceiling and the carpet was so filthy we had to keep our shoes on. The hotel was full, so we couldn't change rooms. With it booked solid, there was no hot water. There's a bar but no bartender, and ice is only available on even-numbered floors. The lobby is nice and reception staff are pleasant, and the shuttle driver is nice, but he wasn't available when we needed him. Don't be fooled by that. This is an overpriced, run-down hotel that isn't worth the cost, and it should change its name because it's not a Sheraton/Marriott.

I stay at the Sheraton whenever I travel to Louisville. It's easy to get downtown from here, and there's plenty of parking in a safe location. The Ohio river view is scenic, the rooms are comfortable, breakfast is great every morning, and the staff are helpful. Highest recommendation from me.
