Edgewood Motel

The service was awful, and there was no sense of privacy. Maids kept coming into the room, and it felt like they were looking to steal. The doors wouldn't lock, and there were flying roaches. Don't waste your time, it's not worth it.

We were in room 27, and the place was disgusting. The bedding was stained, there was hair and grime in the shower, and we found a used condom in a corner. The rug felt sticky and looked filthy, the walls were stained with smoke, and the A/C didn't work even though it was 80° outside. A bathroom hinge was damaged, making the door hard to close. The cleaning ladies, if you can call them that, seemed to just bring fresh towels and take away the dirty ones. There was no refund policy. If refunds had been possible, we'd have left and slept in the truck. Instead, we went to Walmart for cleaning supplies and new bedsheets, then stayed the night. I'm extremely unsatisfied and wouldn't recommend this place. Save your money.

I live within 4 miles of this motel and have come back a lot over the years for a short getaway and a few days soaking in the jacuzzi tub. For a few days away, I recommend it. The staff are always willing to help, and housekeeping is kind and attentive. Will is quick to handle problems, whether it's a TV remote that won't work, figuring out the jacuzzi drain, or loud, unruly guests. This isn't a 5 star motel, and the carpets could use more frequent cleaning. But I've never seen bugs or roaches here. You get what you pay for, and for me it's a 10/10.

The motel across the street is newly renovated and nice, though parking is tight and getting in and out is easy. I'm sharing that because I'm done with this place. I've been coming here for years, but it's gone downhill over the last few. On my last visit, we booked a room with a hot tub because of severe joint pain, then saw roaches in less than two hours. One or two would be understandable, but there were so many it was gross. The front desk wouldn't refund us and said to come back to speak to a manager. I did, and the manager also refused a refund, offering only a complimentary room. That makes no sense since I won't return. I told him we'd been bitten, and he said, "roaches don't bite," which is completely false. I've seen it happen numerous times. I don't recommend this place to anyone. I'll send photos and videos to the health department and the city department of health because the owner also owns another place in Queens that I wouldn't go to either. So much for "the customer is always right." I won't be coming back.
