Peachtree Suites

I had a very disappointing stay. The PATH is right next door, which is convenient, but the immediate area felt unsafe, with people loitering outside, and getting into the building involved restricted access. Cleanliness was a major problem. There was visible staining on the towels, hair on several items, and dirty utensils in the kitchen area. One towel even seemed to have what looked like blood on it. The TV didn't work, and nobody tried to fix it. Around 9:30 AM, a staff member named Andy knocked loudly on doors to offer “extensions” for $130. That felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. The location gives the property potential, but management needs to deal with the hygiene, safety, and professionalism issues.

I left Peachtree Suites early because of how disappointing the stay was. There was no hot water in the shower despite the freezing weather, the shower hardware was broken, and the door barely moved. Every towel had hair on it, and there was hair on the bedding too. That points to a lack of sanitation. The security issue was the biggest concern: by mistake, I entered the wrong room number, but my door code opened another guest's door. That should never happen in a hotel. After I checked out early, I had to call three times and email once just to get refund documentation. They never actually refunded me and couldn't provide an ARN to show that they had. Gross scammers, stay away. I reported them for all their violations.

The room was clean and modern, and the staff were very nice and helpful. It's a three-minute walk from the train station, so I'd recommend it to anyone visiting NYC on a budget. A couple of things had come loose, including the shower handle, but that was my only complaint.

The building and room were clean, and we had no problems. It's within walking distance of the PATH trains to New York, and you need security codes to enter the front door. There's no parking, so we used the Journal Square secure garage, where we catch the train. We'd definitely stay here again.
