I arrived after 9 p.m. on a work night, so I didn’t take many photos. I travel a lot, around 200 hotel nights a year for work plus personal trips, and this is not what I expect from a Hilton brand hotel. It felt like a ghetto motel. I checked in through the app with a digital key. When I first saw the room, the headboard was torn up, so I went to ask for another room. The employee took a while to come to the desk. There was a sign saying the clerk was helping a guest, but they seemed to be visiting friends in the dining area. I was offered an upgrade, but that room’s headboard was in even worse shape. They said there were no rooms in better condition, so I was going to stay in the original one. On my way back, I noticed the floors were disgusting and hadn’t been mopped. Then I saw a spot on the table and decided to leave and find another place. The employee kept pointing to the renovations. I can deal with renovation work, but not that level of uncleanliness. I highly recommend booking elsewhere.

The breakfast was what I liked most. The rooms felt a bit dated and were somewhat noisy. Even though the hotel didn’t seem full, it looked like they had put everyone on my floor in rooms right next to each other.

The building and rooms looked nothing like the pictures. There was litter and debris all over outside, and when we entered, a man was sitting on the couch picking his toes. The building had a funky smell, while our room smelled musty. There was mold in both the bathroom and jacuzzi. The bed’s headboard was clawed up and falling apart, and there was hair in the bed. I cancelled right away and got only half my money back.

After getting nowhere with the manager, I contacted corporate, and they finally processed a refund. It’s sad that it had to go that far. The manager had refused to refund the last night we didn’t use. When I asked, he said, “if you didn’t like why did you stay 3 nights”. That was incredibly rude and insensitive, considering we’d just had a house fire and flooding and had to move our things, with our dog, three times in three days. We chose this pet-friendly hotel after the fire, but the condition and price didn’t match. In the first room, the mattress sank so badly you could see it before lying down. We slept poorly, and the room was dirty, torn, stained, and smelled of mildew. We moved to another room, which also smelled musty. Its bed was a little firmer but still not good, and the headboard had scratches like the first room. The sofa had huge stains and tears. I wouldn’t be surprised if the place had bed bugs. The freezer door was broken open, so the fridge in the second room wouldn’t shut and couldn’t keep our food cold. It was loud, and the door was like a bathroom stall door, with a gap you could see through into the hallway when it was closed. That did nothing to block the noise. I know they’ve started renovations, but they could still replace mattresses and furniture in the meantime. We were already stressed from having to live elsewhere after the fire and flood, and packing up three times to move with a dog was extremely frustrating. We left a night early for the Staybridge on Stadium, which cost the same and was a million times better. The pet fee is $75, and at that price you’d think they could clean up and replace things pets have damaged.

We had already driven ten hours, or we would have gone somewhere else. The beds at least didn’t have bedbugs. Everything else about the room was filthy and run down, and outside construction doesn’t excuse that. The headboards were slashed with foam showing, the bathroom was moldy, the drapes hung loose, the carpet was disgusting, and there was trash on the ground outside our window. The staff weren’t helpful. When I asked a front desk employee if she was the manager, she answered, “Why?” I’m surprised Hilton still lets this place use its name. What a dump.
