The employees we met were all professional, friendly, and ready to help. Ashley, Delores, and Oscar at the front desk were phenomenal, as were Kyle and Lemmy at valet. We also enjoyed both the food and service at the hotel restaurant one evening. The room was spacious and the hotel very clean, with a chic boutique feel. We were in the newer tower, where a room key is needed to reach any floor. We liked the bathroom sensor that turns on the nightlight under the vanity when you enter at night. There’s no ice machine on each floor, but getting ice from the front desk on our way back to the room wasn’t a problem. We’d recommend the Ambassador Hotel Kansas City for its proximity to T-Mobile Center and the KC Power & Light District, each about a five-minute walk or less. We felt safe downtown and would return when we’re back in Kansas City.

The room was incredibly dim even with several lamps, none of which gave enough light. Hot water also took so long to come through in Rm 606 that I thought it was broken and was about to call maintenance. I wouldn’t stay again.

The singer and band in the restaurant on Saturday night were so much fun, and our dinner on Dec 6th 2025 was much better than the service the next morning. The waitress on Sunday morning, Dec. 7th, was very busy but also super sarcastic and rude. The front desk staff were all good. The hotel has a really nice boutique look, but the water in the room was cool and took a while to heat up for the shower. The sink never got past lukewarm. I know it was winter, but still.

I was there for a convention, and I’m glad the convention hotel was booked because it led me to this awesome place. The staff created a resort-like atmosphere, and everyone I came across impressed me, from the cleaning team to people in the elevator, lobby, and restaurant. I was surprised by how good the food and hospitality were in the restaurant. I met the chef in the elevator and told him so face to face. I had a great time.

The rooms felt fresh and clean, and while the hotel isn’t brand new, nothing seemed especially dated. We chose it to be near the Power & Light District, and it was an easy two-block walk. Valet parking was the only option, but the service was great. We never waited more than five minutes for the car. The lobby and bar have such distinctive, beautiful decor, and the staff were wonderful, friendly, and always ready to help. A great downtown Kansas City stay.
