Comfort Suites Kansas City - Liberty

We checked in at 4:30 pm on March 2nd and left at 8:30 am on March 3rd. We won't stay here again. We were traveling home out of state from Minnesota with my baby and a dog, so we stopped to rest. Before booking, we told the man on the phone we had a small dog, a corgi mix, and he said it was fine, gave us the price, and we paid over the phone. Check-in went smoothly. Later, my friend took the dog out and asked the woman at the desk where she could go. She said anywhere. When we went down together before bed to take the dog out, a man whose name I can't remember asked for our room number. After we said 230, he rudely told us dogs weren't allowed on the second floor. Nobody had told us that by phone or at check-in. We were fine with switching rooms and just didn't want an extra charge, but he kept interrupting us, having an attitude, and saying we'd cause him to lose his job. His customer service and attitude were the problem. He could've been much nicer to us as two women with a baby and a dog.

We had a big group here for a wedding in KC, probably over 30 people, and needed the hotel as a place to gather. The staff were really accommodating and let our family use the dining area at night to regroup and hang out. The kids liked the pool, and breakfast was hot. We'd gladly come back and recommend it.

I ended up sleeping in my truck, so this was a terrible experience. I booked through Priceline at 2:30am and told the front desk attendant, Sree, that I had just made the reservation and only wanted to stay until noon. He said he couldn't change the date because it was booked through a third party. I called Priceline, but got no help there either. Sree didn't help or try to understand my situation, and the customer service was awful. I'll never try another Comfort Suites, especially this one. The lobby furniture was filthy, so maybe it was for the best I didn't stay. The rooms were probably just as nasty. I'd give negative stars if I could.

We stayed two nights over Valentine's weekend in room 101. The first night, the shower water was only just warm, not quite cool. My wife had a cold bath the next morning. We mentioned the problem at the desk as we left for the day, and they said they'd tell maintenance. When we got back, the desk didn't know whether anything had been done. The shower was unchanged. I called the front desk and was told someone would call me back, but I'm still waiting. My wife had another cool bath the next morning. At checkout I complained again. There was no apology or discount offer, just a promise that the manager would contact me. I'm still waiting.
