The breakfast issue came on Sunday morning, when they began shutting it down about 45 minutes before the posted end time. Guests arriving during the advertised hours had little or no access to what was promised. We were eventually moved to another room after raising an issue with the mattress in the first one. It looked like it had mold or mildew. Staff said it was "just a stain," but either way it seemed unsanitary and unacceptable. They said the sheets would be changed, but that never happened. After we moved, we realized we'd left a shirt in the original room. The desk said it had already been rented to someone else. But when I asked where housekeeping keeps things left behind during cleaning, they told me the room hadn't even been cleaned. That was confusing and concerning, especially since it was supposedly assigned to another guest. Taken together, this felt like poor housekeeping, inconsistent communication, and too little attention to guest concerns. Mistakes happen, but basic standards weren't being met. I can't recommend staying here. Management needs to look seriously at cleanliness, housekeeping, and customer service.

We came for AAU Basketball. The location is perfect and the cost was good, but the quality matched the price. The water pressure was horrible, and the toilet clogged. They told my husband to come get the plunger. At 2am, the smoke detectors went off because of a malfunction. We waited outside for an hour, with no communication from staff about what was going on and no help evacuating. There were still no apologies or discounts offered the next day or at checkout. This hotel has potential to be great.

It's good value in a handy spot for west KC, and the staff were friendly. The pool is a nice size for kids, with a depth of 3 to 4.5ft. Room maintenance needs work. The bathroom had been updated, but the toilet paper holder didn't work, and the glass shower handle closed against the other glass wall and could pinch your fingers. The toilet drained slowly on arrival and eventually clogged. Staff couldn't find a plunger that evening and offered to move us to another room. It was inconvenient, but at least they offered.

The hotel is well located near food and shopping, the beds were comfortable, and breakfast was edible. We booked a two-bedroom suite for three nights, but there was construction throughout the building and a lot wrong in our room. It smelled strongly of cat urine, though I convinced myself it was new carpet. The carpet had various red stains, so I'm not sure how new it was. The top dresser drawer was stuck open and in the way, the second room's door wouldn't stay open without being propped, and the bathroom toilet paper holder was broken. The shower water was tepid at best, and the vinyl was ripped entirely off the desk chair. My biggest complaint is that we asked three separate times for fresh towels and the garbage to be changed, and it never happened.
