Holiday Inn Kansas City Downtown - Aladdin

I got a great Priceline deal, though my window looked straight at a brick wall about 10 feet away. I didn’t mind since it was just an overnight stop. The building is a cool old one, and the hotel was nice overall, but there’s no free parking, which sucks. The room was small and plain, fine for one night. The 32" TV had a good range of channels. The bed was excellent, comfy but supportive. The bathroom was on the small side but okay, with a nice shower and big, soft towels. The toilet didn’t flush with much authority.

There were a few little things off in the room. Some repair work wasn’t done quite right, though everything worked. It wasn’t the quietest stay, but the comfy beds made up for that. The rooms were very nice overall, and the friendly, helpful staff welcomed me with a complementary glass of champagne at check-in. The styling is unique, with an old school cool feel. 8/10, I’d stay again.

We were there for a conference this past weekend, and the staff were helpful in accommodating everyone in the room. The facilities throughout were very nice and clean, and there are good places nearby for food and sightseeing. The location is great. The rooms were smaller than I expected, and four people with luggage in a double bed room felt cramped at times. For a couple of days, a microwave and fridge would have been a nice touch. Still, it’s a great place to stay when visiting Kansas City.

The elevator was fast, at least. The room was fairly clean but the decor felt claustrophobic, and the pillows were too squishy to be comfortable. The hotel itself was relatively "elegant". The breakfast buffet costs extra and wasn’t worth the price, especially when other hotels offer the same items for free.
