It’s an easy walk to Union Station and other notable attractions. There was some train noise, but the fan on low covered it easily, and otherwise it was quiet. The rooms were beautiful, well-designed, and comfortable, with great blackout blinds. Staff were attentive and helpful, and the gym was clean and modern. I enjoyed my stay. Keep in mind there are just two parking choices, street parking or $28 a night for valet. Though the hotel claims to have an onsite restaurant, it serves breakfast only, and the bar has no food. Entertainment is surprisingly limited to basic satellite channels, with no streaming services.
I stay here whenever I come to KC for work, and it feels like home. The staff are top notch, the cleaning team is friendly and hardworking, and the beds are comfortable and clean with four pillows of different firmness. The bathroom is spacious, the TV has more than just the local guide, and the bartender has been there every time I’ve checked in over the last five years, whatever the night. He knows his stuff. The location is key. I can usually find free street parking, or use the hotel valet for safe keeping. Lots of good restaurants, coffee shops, and bars are within walking distance. Some rooms could use a refresh, but I expect they’ll get to it soon. I have too many good things to say about this place.
The room was large, quiet, and just what I needed after a long day. Front desk staff were great and supportive, and the valet service was pretty good. There’s a nice-sized lobby bar, but no meals. They said there was breakfast, though I never saw anyone eating there. My company had bought daily grab-and-go breakfast tickets. The first morning, my ticket got me a small brown bag with an orange Capri Sun, an orange, and a mini chewy granola bar, the sort of snack I used to give my grandkids in elementary school. I’d hoped for at least a breakfast sandwich or burrito. I used only one of the four tickets because it wasn’t worth the trouble, then had to get up earlier and travel a long way to find breakfast before each long workday. There’s another Hotel Indigo nearby, and food delivery drivers took my order there several times despite my telling them which one I was staying at. I’m used to staying at three- or four-star hotels around 150 nights a year, and have had breakfast and grab-and-go meals at lots of them. I’d return here just to sleep and rest, but probably not for a business trip. After a long day I want to go down for a drink and a meal, and that’s not available here.
Valet was easy and worth the $28, with unlimited in-and-out access. That made getting to Arrowhead Stadium for the Chiefs’ last home game and back simple. The location was perfect. The room was comfortable and mostly quiet, and the bed was one of the best I’ve slept in while traveling. The bathroom was a treat too, with a spacious shower and rainfall head. Walls are a little thin, so light sleepers may want to know that. Service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout. Restaurant breakfast tasted really good, though service was a little slow, the only reason I’d give it four stars instead of five. Coffee snobs or connoisseurs should bring their own. Five stars for the room and service, four for breakfast service, and I’d happily stay again.
The shower was AMAZING, with incredible water pressure. The staff were friendly, and the room was clean and aesthetic. We had no issues with noise during our stay, though the walls are thin and a little white noise would cover it. It’s a convenient spot for getting to Arrowhead or Kauffman. If you don’t know the city, the area might feel a little unnerving. We’d stay again.
