La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Kansas City Beacon Hill

The staff were friendly and accommodating, especially with the kids. They also worked with us on check-in and checkout times, which made everything much less stressful. I was impressed that the general manager was helping clean rooms during a busy stretch. You could tell he cared about the business and guest experience. For the price and location, the hotel was amazing. We were only about two miles from where we needed to be. The room had a nice view, a smart TV, a microwave, and a mini fridge. The shower had hot water, which I love. The one thing I didn’t like was that there was no bathroom vent, so after the kids and I showered, steam filled the room. The bathroom door also wouldn’t lock. I’d definitely stay again.

The hot breakfast was good, and the restaurant was clean, though the place could use repairs and updates. Two ice machines were out of order. In the room, the walls were scuffed, the jazz-themed pictures had broken frames, the fridge didn’t work, the shower curtain rod looked ready to fall, and the toilet tank lid didn’t even fit the toilet. The room left a lot to be desired. Still, the bed was fine, and if what you need is a friendly staff and somewhere to sleep, this may work. The two women I spoke with at the front desk were great. They were friendly, went above and beyond, and gave honest recommendations and opinions about local restaurants and sights.

We’re traveling from Tampa, FL, to Tacoma, WA, and have stayed at a lot of different hotels along the way. This one has been the best so far. The room was clean and undamaged, the water pressure was great and the water nice and hot, and the bed was comfortable. We also had an amazing view. The staff were friendly and helpful. I’ll stay here again.

For my birthday, we did a staycation so we could enjoy downtown without dealing with traffic. The room was good, though a couple of spots looked like they’d been missed during the previous cleaning. It didn’t affect our stay. What really stood out was that they provided a sheet and blanket for the crib we requested. I always bring crib linens myself, and I’ve never had a hotel supply them before. Breakfast was good too. All in all, a great place to stay when visiting KC, MO!
