The staff were all really nice, always smiling and waving, and the margaritas were good. The bed was comfortable, though the pillows were flat as pancakes. I had a generally fine time, but I wouldn’t recommend the place. We chose it because it allowed dogs, but it was hard to get clear details before arriving. The website didn’t explain the rules, and when I called, staff couldn’t tell me whether the additional $70 fee was one-time or daily. I only learned in person that my dog had to weigh under 70 pounds. That should’ve been explained ahead of time. The room already smelled of dog urine, and I found some on the lower corner of the wood under the mattress. The indoor pool looks big, but there isn’t much room to swim. The ninja course takes up half, and cement stools and tables sit in the other part. There were about six other people when we went, and it already felt like the most it could hold without getting crowded. We went in winter, so knew the outdoor pool area wasn’t an option. The Landshark bar service was nice, but the food seemed overpriced for what it was, especially since I could get the same food about ten minutes down the road for less. I booked at a discounted local rate and still thought the stay cost too much. Self-parking is $20 a day, there’s no free breakfast, and free coffee may or may not be available depending on the day. In summer, watch for a resort fee. The area feels a little empty. If you’re visiting from out of town, there are only a few things nearby, and you’ll likely drive 15-20 minutes to reach city activities or nicer restaurants.

We had a great NYE with friends and kids. The kids enjoyed swimming and an art activity in the lobby, and renting a “frosted cabana” was a lot of fun. The lobby has plenty of tables and seating. The woman running the kids’ activities kindly helped us set up by the fireplace, where we played games until midnight. We could hear the band at Landshark, and everyone was dancing in the lobby. Harold was so helpful as we left, and gave our first day of 2026 a positive start. The elevators were very slow, and the food at Landshark didn’t feel worth the price. I hope they expand the resort with more pools, resort-like views, and shops. For now there’s just a gift shop. Still, it was a great experience.

Jacob at the front desk helped me with a few things, and the bartender and baristas were friendly and efficient. The room was clean, with a very comfortable bed. Being near two major highways was convenient, and I could charge my EV onsite overnight for a fee. That helped me get an early start on my trip the next morning.

Allyson and Nick from the Kansas City hotel were two of the most helpful employees I’ve had in a long time. Harold went even further and set things up for us. I’ll be back because of those three. The hotel is nicely decorated, though it’s a little short on the Jimmy Buffet vibe. We had a very good stay.

We had such a fun pre-birthday weekend getaway for our child at Margaritaville Kc. The obstacle course in the pool kept drawing us back, and the rooms were clean with great food. Nick, our valet, made us feel welcome and celebrated right away. Debby was working in the gift shop for part of our stay, and was easy to talk with and happy to answer questions. The staff were so kind. We’re excited to see the outdoor pool this summer!
