The location made the weekend especially easy: Nelson Atkins is right next door, and the Plaza, Westport, and Power and Light are all close by. We loved the beautiful old mansion and all its character. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a nice bathroom, a great bed and sheets, good AC, and a pleasant view. We came for a short getaway and would happily return.

The museums are an easy walk away, and the Plaza is just a few miles from the property. Everything was very well kept, and my room passed the white glove test, literally. I do wish there had been a clearer explanation of the meals. A menu was posted outside the dining room, but I never saw anyone eating, smelled food cooking, or saw staff in the kitchen. More staff presence would also help.

We had the whole property for our wedding weekend and held the ceremony there. The Oak Street team was available and helpful throughout the reservation and planning, even though this is a self-service hotel with limited staff on-site. It worked beautifully for our family: we could use the lovely common areas and commercial kitchen, and the dining room had extra supplies like silverware, water, and glassware. The guest rooms were wonderful and came with mini fridges, coffee makers, and other necessities.

The house is beautiful inside and out, with lots of open space and plenty of guest bathrooms. Everything was clean, well cared for, and set up to meet pretty much any need. I felt relaxed in my room right away. I live nearby and will stay again. Highly recommend!

The landscaped mansion sits among lovely classical buildings and close to several art museums. We liked having such spacious living, dining, and sitting areas, and the rooms were clean. An oven for reheating food would be a nice addition. The vodka room seems better suited to someone traveling alone.
