Quality Inn Kearney South

We stayed at the Quality Inn with our lab Benny. Alex at the front desk was incredibly sweet and the nicest guy. We wish more people were like him. He’s a real asset to the hotel. Thank you, Alex.

I attended a conference, and the room worked well for our small group, with everything we needed. My peers stayed there overnight and had positive comments. It was easy to find when coming off I80.

The room smelled awful, like there was old, rotting roadkill under the bed. We’d paid $150, and I was disgusted. The bathtub had chunks of mold along with pieces of the wall trim, and the TV didn’t work. Breakfast was poor too, with very limited choices. I didn’t even take the toiletries. My dad, who has never complained before, spoke to the front desk woman, and she said the room was being remodeled. Then why were we put in it, and why did it smell so bad? Never staying at a “Quality” Inn again. 0/10, wouldn’t recommend even to my greatest enemy.

We were told there were no other rooms, given a king, and charged for it. That room smelled horrible, the door was broken and hard to get through, and the TV didn’t work. The woman at the desk was very nice when we spoke to her and offered to move us. She’d just said there were no other rooms, but suddenly one was available. Hmm, bait and switch? She also said she’d discount the stay because the first room was bad and we were switched to a two-queen room. The second room smelled just as bad. The tub was rusty, with mold along the side and yellow stains that looked like pee. The carpet was so filthy we kept our socks on. At least the TV worked, whoopee. The bed was so hard neither of us slept, and on one bed, the sheets and plastic mattress cover kept slipping off whenever you moved. At checkout, after no sleep, I told the young man about the problems and that my card had been charged more than the previous clerk said. He just told me he couldn’t do anything and I’d need to talk to Alex. It’s not his fault or the earlier desk clerk’s. If the franchise owner doesn’t care how people are treated or charges someone over $120.00 for a room that isn’t a QUALITY room, there’s nothing they can do. We’ve traveled all over and never had trouble with a Quality Inn before. They quote one amount and charge another. Be careful!
