Port Inn & Suites Kennebunk, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Stephanie at the front desk really made us feel at home. Her warmth and joy are contagious, and the staff overall were friendly and attentive. The place is cozy and relaxing, with an atmosphere that feels like home from the moment you arrive. I had an amazing stay and would come back without hesitation, as many times as needed. Highly recommend it!

The rooms are a little dated, but otherwise comfortable. What really put us off was finding hair all over the beds and pillowcases, including in the sheets. Ew! Breakfast barely counted as breakfast: just apples, oranges, oatmeal packets, bread slices, and stale muffins. No hot or cold choices like cereal, milk, or eggs.

It's close to the beaches, and Kennebunkport is a short drive away. They were very dog friendly and even gave our dog a goodie bag with treats and a bowl. I loved that large dogs were welcome. The walls are a bit thin, though, and we could hear people walking above us. I'm a light sleeper, so if you are too, bring a fan or some white noise. It helps a lot. I'd recommend the place overall.

The staff are very welcoming, but the stay cost more than it was worth. Getting to the rooms isn't easy, with too many shrubs and quite narrow stairs. The vanity is okay for one person, not two, and my bed wasn't very comfortable. There's still carpet on the floors, with who knows what in it and underneath after all these years. The room doors don't close easily, which makes you wonder if that's a good thing. Breakfast was fair.
