Comfort Inn & Suites Kenosha-Pleasant Prairie

Breakfast mattered most to me, and it was pretty good, well stocked, and decent quality. The room was clean and fairly quiet. The beds were okay, and the topper made them much better. There were a couple of problems: the fridge had a broken front foot and wobbled badly, though a washcloth underneath helped, and the toilet leaked and flooded pretty badly once. Check-in was a little difficult because I couldn’t understand the woman well and she got short with me. I didn’t see her again, and everyone else was polite. I’d still stay here again.

For the price, it was a nice business suite, and the hot breakfast was good with plenty of seating. The bed was too soft, though, and the shower was just okay. There’s a pool but no hot tub. The bedroom TV had no remote, and there wasn’t a notepad or pen in the suite when I needed to take notes. The bright lights outside came through, but clipping the curtains together helped. I might stay again.

The night staff were great, and I liked the front room setup with a door separating it from the sleeping area. That extra door kept hallway noise out. But housekeeping was a bit too eager to come in at 8 a.m., and my key stopped working at 9:30, even though checkout was 11. We’d already left well before checkout, but it was irritating that I couldn’t get back into the room.

I booked room 229 with manager Jenny for a two-night family getaway, checking in Tuesday, February 17, 2026. After dropping our things off, we went swimming. The water seemed okay, but there was a lot of mold on the walls around the pool. My four-year-old daughter loves swimming, so I let her enjoy it while she could. When we came back to shower, I found leftover Valentine’s hearts and balloon pieces on the floor, plus rust or mold around the tub. We had to use the shower instead of the bath, which was uncomfortable. Since it was late, I planned to talk with Jenny in the morning. Then I noticed the comforters on both beds were ripped with their filling exposed, some things were broken, and the trash cans hadn’t been cleaned. On February 18, I politely told Jenny about the mold and how unclean the room was. I asked if we could move to a cleaner room for the second night and was willing to negotiate. She said no rooms were available, though the website showed open rooms. I asked for a refund and checked out. Jenny seemed to know about the cleanliness problems and said she’d tell housekeeping to clean more. I also asked to be reimbursed for the first night. She said she’d refund it if the damage had been there before we checked in. She called the same housekeepers she said needed to clean more to check; I couldn’t understand their conversation, but Jenny then told me they hadn’t seen anything wrong, so she wouldn’t refund me and said I should have spoken up sooner. Jenny was unhelpful, snappy, and careless about how uncomfortable my stay at Comfort Inn in Kenosha, WI was. When I asked for corporate’s number, she said she didn’t know it and didn’t have to provide it. All I wanted was a clean, comfortable place for my child to swim. I filed a complaint with Choice Hotels. Don’t waste your money here, especially with children. There was mold, crumbs and decor left by previous guests, stained bedding and curtains, couches, a noisy heater, and a disgusting tub. The room size was the only good part. The breakfast ladies helped find my daughter’s shoe, and I appreciated that. I’m beyond disgusted. Here are some photos:
